DAY
01 : ARRIVE DELHI |
| You will arrive Delhi International Airport.
Following customs & immigration formalities and baggage
collection, a Mountain Trails representative will meet you as
you EXIT the ARRIVALS TERMINAL building after which you would
be transferred to your hotel.
Upon arrival at the hotel, proceed for check-in to your rooms.

DAY
02 : DELHI |
Today you will have a full-day city
tour of Old and New Delhi.
Delhi has long been a centre of power almost continuously
since the 13th Century. No fewer than seven cities have
been built on this site, side by side. The huge city is
divided into Old and New Delhi; the former also comprises
the seventh city, Shahjahanabad and the areas further
north; the latter has at its core the plan of the capital
created by the British in 1911. |

Sightseeing
of Old Delhi will include the Red Fort, Jama Masjid and
Raj Ghat. The Red Fort was built by Shah Jahan on the
eastern edge of the city along the Yamuna River. The entrance
through the fort is via the imposing Lahori Gate which
leads to a roof passage known as Chatta Chowk. At the
end of this is the Naquar Khana (drum house) which marks
the entrance the royal enclosures. There are six main
palaces but one of the best known is the Diwan-I-Am, the
hall of public audience which was dominated by the legendary
jewel-studded Peacock Throne.
Sightseeing of New Delhi includes the Jama Masjid, the
largest mosque in India, which was built by Shah Jehan.
Also see Raj Ghat which is a memorial to Mahatma Ghandi.
The tour continues with India Gate, Rashtrapati Bhawan,
Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. Rashtrapati Bhawan
was once Viceregal Lodge on Raisina Hill and is now the
residence of the President of |

India. The 16th century Humayun’s
Tomb is one of the finest examples of a garden tomb and is of
a style which was perfected at the Taj Mahal at Agra. Finally
visit the five storied Qutub Minar which was built in 1199 and
is now one of Delhi’s landmarks.

Day
03: DELHI/NAWALGARH |
|
Morning drive to Nawalgarh
(5 to 6 hrs) in the Shekhawati region in Rajasthan's districts
of Jhunjhunu & Sikar, known for the painted houses
or " Havelis " of its wealthy merchant class,
the Marwaris. This region could be called the open-air
art gallery of Rajasthan. The drive to Shekhawati is through
picturesque village and farms.

Founded in 1737 AD. by Thakur
Nawal Singh, a warrior statesman, whose name is enshrined in
history and folklore. The town exudes an old world charm and
the colourful bazaar has the largest number of painted Havelis
in Shekhawati.
Royal Welcome on arrival at the Roop Niwas Palace with horses,
camels, flower garlands, folk musicians and a non alchoholic
welcome drink . The palace lies just a kilometer from the town
and is a fascinating blend of European and Rajput style of architecture.
The Palace has lovely spacious lawns, a billiard room and a
swimming pool.
In the late afternoon meet up at the stables, where the riders
are introduced to the safari team and the lovely ‘Marwari’
horses and ride around the Palace. The riders have a good chance
to choose a horse of their liking. The riding leader advises
each rider about the choice of horses. Tea is served at the
stables and traditional gifts given to every rider. Riders are
given a detailed briefing of the tour and introduction talk
on the arid region ecology followed by Dinner. |

Day
04: NAWALGARH |
| Morning ride out with
picnic breakfast to the countryside, return in time for
lunch. Afternoon free time at the palace.There is a possibility
to invite ladies to decorate the palms of lady guests
with henna.Then sightseeing of nawalgarh by car/Camel
Buggy with guide visiting Havelis, to see frescos and
painted houses.Over night at Roopniwas palace. |

Day
05: NAWALGARH |
|
Morning
ride around Nawalgarh. During the ride visit farmhouses
and village homes of people who keep local horse breed
the Marwari horses. Visit the stables and have interactive
meetings with the farmers. Picnic lunch en route.
Afternoon talk on Marwari horses. Followed by interactive
discussion. Then display of Ancient horse medicine book
"Salotra" which is a hand written book. This
is a family inheritance. Interactive discussion on beliefs
of Indian people about horses and how to encourage local
horse lovers to continue to keep Marwari horses.
Traditional folk entertainment and dinner.Overnight Roop

06 : NAWALGARH/BARWASI/NAHARSINGHANI 26KMS |

SAFARI BEGINS |
Ride through semi desert
areas with small farms and countryside dotted with Khejri
trees. En route picnic Lunch and visit Farms where Women
farmers are supported by NGO to encourage natural resources
management and use of eco friendly farming technique to
increase yield.

07 : NAHARSINGHANI/CHURIAJITGARH/NABIPURA 26KMS |
Ride through semi desert farm countryside
to reach a small woodlot and dry waterhole, surrounded by KER
bushes many flocks of blue bull antelopes may be seen around
campsite.

08 : NABIPURA/FATHEPUR BEED 30KMS |
| Morning ride through
semi desert region and Fatehpur Beed. Picnic lunch near
a typical Shekhawati architecture water tank "Johda".
The Nawab of Fatehpur 300 years ago had declared that
he would leave as a charity, grazing ground as much area,
which could be encircled by a rider from sunrise to sunset
and declared it protected. Today Fatehpur beed is an amazing
70 sq.km area with all species of desert plants. Camping
in Beed one gets to see Desert Fox, Jackal / Blue Bull
and Deer. The |

protected area proves that if human don’t
inter-fear a semi forest can be created in a desert.
The Camp is near a ruined travelers home overlooking the entire
beed. This is a most beautiful campsite. |

09 : FATHEPUR BEED/KHURI-SHYNAN MATA ROCK TEMPLE 34KMS |
|
Riding west today you will enter
territory of the erstwhile Bikaner state. There will be
a sudden surprising change in terrain to large sand dunes.
Going will be slow after lunch.
The campsite is in a beautiful small woodlot at the base
of a temple situated on a rock edifice.Overnight Camp.

10 : KHURI-SHYNAN MATA ROCK TEMPLE/TALCHAPPER 31KMS |
| Leaving the sand dunes you
will come to flat loam soil ground. Most of the
ride will be through (if we get permission) or around
the peripheries of Tal Chappar the famous black
buck game sanctuary. The Scarves/Turbans will be
useful as fine dust rises when you ride past this
flat ground. You will get to see black buck deer
and also other deer species during the ride. Overnight
Camp will be set up on the peripheries of the sanctuary.

DAY
11 : TALCHAPPER 31KMS |
| Full day ride and explore the
area around the peripheries Talchappar Wildlife Sanctuary. Tal
Chappar wildlife Sanctuary covers 71 sq. Kms of desert scrubland.
It has largest herds of blackbuck antelope in India, besides
chinkara gazelle, desert cat, desert fox and other dry land
wildlife. Flocks of demoiselle and common cranes can be seen
at nearby lakes and wet lands. Bird life includes sand grouse,
quails, and cream coloured desert courser. Picnic lunch. Evening
return to camp.Overnight Camp on the peripheries of the sanctuary.

12 : TALCHAPPER/BIKANER/DELHI 31KMS |
| Early morning ride around and say goodbye
to your horses. After breakfast drive (3.5 hrs) to Bikaner.
On arrival Lunch at Bheruvilas hotel, after lunch sightseeing
of Bikaner visiting the Junagarh fort and if time permits then
the camel breeding farm and royal cenotaphs. BIKANER is a ancient
city founded in 12th centaury and is one of the 21 maharaja
states which combine to form our state Rajasthan and merged
in the republic of India in 1947.Evening transfer to the Railway
station for overnight Train to Delhi.Overnight Train (Air conditioned

| Early morning arrive
in Delhi. On arrival you will be met and transferred to
